The Institute of Electrical and Control Engineering was established in 1981, with Master program in 1981, and Ph.D program in 1991. Formally it was part of the Department of Electrical and Control Engineering, which was established in 1965.

Since 2009, the department has been renamed as Department Electrical Engineering by merging with Department of Communications Engineering and this Institute is responsible for the graduate programs.

Currently, the Institute has 33 faculties, 200 Master’s students, and 100 Ph.D students. The graduates from the institute have achieved much success, and are cordially welcome by the academia and industries.
